The Continuum Prestige Collection: Limited-Edition Luxury Living

Thiam Siew Avenue was once a quiet enclave of just 22 pre-war bungalows and semi-detached houses. However, it is set to undergo a dramatic transformation with the rise of The Continuum, a landmark 816-unit private freehold condominium. This distinctive development is poised to stand out in prime District 15.

Joint venture partners Hoi Hup Realty and Sunway Developments acquired the two freehold land parcels spanning the north and south of Thiam Siew Avenue en bloc for $815 million in November 2021. The two plots have a combined site area of 263,797 sq ft.

A Distinctive Address

The architects have designed two separate private condominium compounds across the North and South plots, seamlessly linked by a pedestrian overhead bridge across Thiam Siew Avenue. This will become an iconic bridge in the Katong area, transforming the entire streetscape.

Each plot will house three 18-storey towers comprising 408 units, complete with its own entrance, lobby and drop-off point, basement parking facilities, and residents' amenities such as a clubhouse, gym, swimming pool, and sky terrace. Residents will be able to enjoy the facilities across both plots. They can also take in panoramic views of the city and the sea from the sky gardens atop the tower roof terraces.

Catering to diverse homebuyer preferences, The Continuum's Signature Collection offers a versatile range of unit types, spanning from 560 sq ft one-bedroom plus study units to 1,518 sq ft four-bedroom apartments.

Exclusive Blocks with Premium Views

Additionally, the developers have dedicated the most exclusive stacks on each plot to the Prestige Collection. These represent the largest and most luxurious residences within The Continuum, with only 136 units in the entire collection. Among them are 72 units of three-bedroom plus study layouts, ranging from 1,227 sq ft to 1,464 sq ft.

The four-bedroom and five-bedroom premium units in the Prestige Collection are limited to just 32 units each. The four-bedroom premium units range from 1,690 to 2,034 sq ft, while the five-bedroom residences span 1,905 to 2,260 sq ft.

Thanks to their orientation, many units in the Prestige Collection will boast expansive 270-degree views of the surrounding estate. Units will feature private lift access and fully fitted, high-end interiors—from timber flooring in the bedrooms and marble flooring in the living and dining areas to premium European appliances, sanitary ware, and fittings. The four- and five-bedroom units will also come equipped with a V-ZUG wine chiller and dishwasher.

The master suites and junior master suites in the four- and five-bedroom units will feature full-marble en-suite master bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes.

Large freehold units in District 15 command a premium, and many affluent local and overseas Chinese buyers are seeking right-sized legacy properties as trophy assets to pass down to the next generation.

Consequently, residences in the Prestige Collection are exceptionally well-suited for multi-generational families, who can revel in the generous grounds and comprehensive suite of lifestyle amenities across both the North and South plots within a safe and secure gated environment.

Rich Cultural Heritage

Thiam Siew Avenue is steeped in rich heritage. The road was named after property tycoon and hotelier Wee Thiam Siew. The pre-war houses lining Thiam Siew Avenue once formed part of his estate at 525 Dunman Road.

The developers are conserving a pre-war bungalow on the North plot to serve as a new clubhouse, named Thiam Siew House. According to the designers, this conserved clubhouse will serve as a communal space where residents can reminisce about the bygone elegance and rich history of Wee Thiam Siew's era.

In contrast, the clubhouse on the South plot will be a sleek, two-storey glass pavilion conceptualised as a "modern glass lantern".

Pricing Edge

The residences at The Continuum are luxurious, boasting efficient, thoughtfully planned layouts and ample storage space. For instance, selected units feature kitchens that open directly onto balconies, while others offer dual frontages with sweeping views from both the living and dining areas.

Beyond affluent East Coast residents, the Prestige units at The Continuum also appeal to buyers seeking expansive, luxury homes who may find the luxury developments in prime Districts 9, 10, and 11 out of reach.

In comparison, average selling prices in prime Districts 9 to 11 stand at $3,250 psf or higher, whereas The Continuum's Prestige Collection is priced at an average of $2,800 to $2,900 psf, with three-bedroom plus study units starting from over $3.38 million. At this price point, the Prestige Collection presents compelling potential for long-term capital appreciation.
